Home / OEM & Private Label

Your brand on the box. Our tooling behind it.

Roughly 60% of our output ships under someone else's name. This page is the whole programme: what it costs, how long it takes, who owns the tooling, and what we need from you before we can quote.

01 — Why private label

Distributors do not want another brand. They want their own.

A distributor carrying our name is competing with the brand next to it on the shelf. A distributor carrying its own name is building an asset. That difference is the entire reason this programme exists.

40–55%

Margin, instead of 25

A private-label clamp lands at your cost plus freight. A branded one lands at distributor price. Same part, different margin structure.

The mould is yours

You pay for it, you own it. Stored free for three years, never run for another customer — written into the supply agreement.

02 — Process

Three phases, eight to ten weeks.

From your drawing to a container on the water. Only the last two phases are on the clock — the first one is where the money is saved or lost.

Mould design and toolpath review in NX before steel is cut PHASE 01

Prototype & DFM

3–5 working days
  • STEP, PDF or a physical sample comes in
  • DFM report out: draft angles, wall thickness, gate position, the three cost drivers
  • CNC or printed prototype if you need to hold it
OUTPUT · DFM report + quote
Multi-cavity injection mould prepared for the first trial shot PHASE 02

Tooling & first article

18–25 working days
  • Die or mould cut in our own tool room, not subcontracted
  • Tool design approved before steel is cut
  • T1 samples off the first shot, golden sample signed to your spec
OUTPUT · T1 samples + signed golden sample
Labelled export cartons scanned against the DC routing guide before loading PHASE 03

Production & pack

25–30 working days
  • Mass run under AQL 2.5, third-party audit welcome
  • Cartons labelled to your DC routing guide
  • SSCC-18 barcode and loading photos before the container seals
OUTPUT · Container, documents, photos
NOTE Phase 01 is free. If the part should not be cast or moulded, the DFM report says so — and suggests the process that fits, even if we do not run it.
03 — What tooling costs

Real numbers, not “contact us”.

Tooling is a one-time cost, paid once, owned by you. The ranges below are for parts in the size range we actually make — a 60 mm clamp body, a 250 mm tray, a 90 mm caster cup.

A 500-piece order with a $4,000 mould adds $8.00 per part to the first run. On the second run it adds nothing. Tooling only makes sense if you plan to reorder — if you do not, take a catalogue part with your logo laser-marked instead.
Tooling typeCost (USD)
Die-casting mould, single cavity$3,500 – 7,000
Die-casting mould, 2-cavity$6,500 – 12,000
Injection mould, single cavity$2,000 – 5,500
Injection mould, family tool$5,000 – 9,000
Progressive stamping die$2,500 – 6,000
CNC fixture / soft jaw$300 – 800
Logo embossed in tool+$250 – 400
Sample & courier$60 – 150
Tooling lead time 18–25 working days. 50% with PO, 50% before T1 shipment. Tooling invoice is separate from the production invoice so it can be capitalised.
04 — Minimums

Price index — what volume actually buys

We do not publish part prices, because a clamp and a housing are not the same number. What we can publish is the shape of the curve: the same part, indexed to 500 pieces = 100. Use it to sanity-check a quote, not to replace one.

QuantityIndexWhat moves
500 pcs100Setup, tooling amortisation and inspection spread over few parts
2,000 pcs78Setup absorbed; material bought at a better break
5,000 pcs68Multi-cavity or longer runs; finishing batched
20,000 pcs58Dedicated tooling, coil or ingot bought forward
50,000 pcs52Effectively material + machine time + margin. There is no more to give.

If a quote sits far below the index for your quantity, ask what changed — sometimes it is a smaller cavity count, sometimes it is a thinner wall, sometimes it is a different alloy.

05 — Private-label packaging

The part is half the product.

A clamp in a plain poly bag is a commodity. The same clamp in a printed box with a hang tag and a spec panel is a product. The difference is about thirty-five cents.

06 — Compliance

What we can put on the label.

Declarations are issued per shipment against the actual batch, not copied from a template.

We do not claim certifications we have not been audited for. If a certificate is not on this list, ask — the answer may still be yes, but it will come with a test report rather than a logo.

No cost, no commitment. If the part should not be cast or moulded, the report will say so and suggest a better process — even if that process is not one we run.
